A caution about colour
Colour alone never confirms an identification. Many minerals occur in several colours (quartz alone spans purple, pink, yellow, brown and clear), and dyes or heat treatment can fake almost any hue. Use colour to make a shortlist, then confirm with lustre, hardness and streak.
